URGENT The Pug Dog Club Championship Show 2020: Covid-19 updatecategory-news

Posted on April 2, 2020

The Officers and Committee of the Pug Dog Club want to let you know that our Championship Show, due to be held on 19 July 2020, is being postponed in view of the likelihood that social distancing measures, due to the coronavirus outbreak, will be in place for some time.  The committee is putting the health and wellbeing of exhibitors, Judges and officials at the heart of its decision.

The good news is that the Kennel Club has agreed that the Club can move the Championship Show to Sunday 6 December 2020, and hold it on the same day and at the same venue as the Winter Open Show at Brackley. So for exhibitors who are looking to make up for the gap in the show season, this will be an opportunity to enter two Club shows on one day.

The plan is to have the Championship Show in one ring and the Open Show in the other. Details are yet to be finalised, but in order to avoid clashes, it is likely that the order of judging for the Championship Show will be Dogs followed by Bitches, the Open Show will be Bitches followed by Dogs. Schedules for both shows will be available in August.

The Judges for the Championship Show will be Robert Hitchcock (Dogs), Michelle Swinge (Bitches), Alison Mount ( Referee).

The Judges for the Open Show will be Keith Baldwin (Dogs), Julie Baldwin (Bitches).

The Officers and Committee of the Pug Dog Club send best wishes to all our members, exhibitors, Judges and volunteers during this difficult time. Keep safe, we look forward to seeing you in December.
